Chocolate Cherry Smoothie
Even with smoothies, there is a time to pamper yourself, and this "chocolate-covered cherry" version is one of them. Based on a recipe I saw in Cook & # 39; s Country Magazine, an offshoot of Cook & # 39; s Illustrated, it is a dessert treat if you just need some chocolate but want to stay healthy.
This has been tested with Stonyfield Farm non-fat natural or vanilla yogurt. They prepare two servings of snack size or a drink of meal replacement size. If you like your smoothies sweeter, use vanilla yogurt or add a tablespoon or two of honey to plain yogurt. If you like it more sour, replace vanilla with plain yogurt. If you want a creamier consistency, switch to low-fat yogurt and know that you're adding calories. Use only 100 percent juice. Do not use sweeteners. You can replace frozen fruit with fresh one, but make sure it's cold. If possible, put it in the freezer for 20 minutes before using it.
